Nutrition Analysis Assignment 1

Weekday 07 March

Pie Graph

In Terms of Nutritional Balance between carbohydrates, fat and protein, my nutrition (based for this day) is not very balanced since the majority of the food consumed is carbohydrates, which is not usual or healthy. My carbs are 73% which is much higher than the avarage (recommended) 40%. The amount of fat consumed is 13% , while 30% nessecary. And the amount of protein was 14% instead of 30%. Therefore, I should cut down the consumption of carbohydrates and increase the amount of proteins and fats.

Bar Graph

This graph shows a "generally" balanced nutrition. There are a few, however, drastic diferences, for example the rate of Vitamin E is very low. On the other side, my highest rate of nutrition is Niacin and Carbon. The graph in general, is lowere, which indicatres that there is a lack of a couple on minerals etc.

Calorie Bar Graph

This calorie graph represents an unhealthy calorie balance. The amount of calories consumed is only 846, while the calories burned are 2,370. This shows that I must intake a greater amount of calories.

Weekend Day 12 March

Pie Graph

Pie Graph: Once again, the rate of carbohydrates is 71% (too high, amount of proteins 15% (too low) and fats 15% (too low). I need to cut down carbs and increase the intake of fats and proteins. My goal is to achieve the recommended amount: 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% proteins.

Bar Graph

This graph shows a very unbalanced nutrition since the rates are various. Some of them, such as Vitamins C,D and E, as well as calcium are extremly low. While Zinc and Thomin are very high. In oreder to balance my nutrition I should consume ceratin vitamins, and decrease the amount of Zinc intake.

Calorie Bar Graph

Althought this chart is slightly better than the last one, it is still very unequal and unbalanced. There are more calories burned than consumed, which is not providing enough energy for the day. In order to balance it, I should increase the amount of calories taken.

A bullied teen steps out in front of the tractor

http://www.newser.com/story/104976/bullied-teen-14-steps-in-front-of-tractor-trailer.html

Brandon Bitner, a high-school student from central Pennsilvaniya that has taken away his life in November 2010, was deeply depressed for a long time due to being bullied continuesly for three years in high school. Despite a close group of friends, a passion for violin and studies, this young man could not face and deal with the harshness of bullies, and did not report anything to either school stuff of family members. Tragically and unexpectedly, he took away his life when stepping out in front of a tractor trailer. HOwever, his sucide has concerned many and promoted a support system from local and national anti-bullying groups like the "It gets better" project.

I think that this article reflects our society a lot. Especially since this is just of numerous bullied teen suicides. But, despite all the groups, organizations and events created to fight this problem, I believe that the core of the problem is not being solved. And that is the overall socitey behaviour. The affect of the media to the people, as well as the surrounding and the lifestlye. This story simply reflects a a bad social/emotional health of the society which this young, weak man couldnt deal with.

This issue definately affects me since I am myself a part of the todays society. Fortunately, it does not affect me personaly, however, this is a concern to me since a great part of the population my age is facing this even daily. This article is a great reflector of tragic concequences of bullying and shows how it affects others a lot.
